There was an emotional ceremony in Moranbah on 8 November, when the community came together to unveil a new memorial to lives lost in mining. The memorial has been a community partnership between Isaac Regional Council, the Mineworkers Trust, CFMEU Mining & Energy National Office, CFMEU Mining & Energy Queensland District, CFMEU Peak Downs Lodge, CFMEU Moranbah North Lodge, CFMEU Goonyella Riverside Lodge, CFMEU Broadmeadow Lodge, AMWU Goonyella Riverside Branch and ETU Goonyella Riverside Branch.
