Meet Emily, a Moranbah local, dust diseases lawyer, and the Labor candidate for Capricornia in the 2025 Federal election.
As the beneficiary of the Moranbah Community scholarship, Emily understands first-hand how mining communities can band together to lift people up. Now in her career. Emily has returned to repay the community which raised and support her as a compensation lawyer.
Emily has deep links to her community, is from a strong MEU family, and is eager to represent the interests of Capricornia in Canberra. We’ve seen for too long how Federal politicians can take coal communities for granted – it’s time to send one of our own to Parliament to keep them accountable.
